Cammie was found by a young woman who was out for a walk. As she passed some woods, Cammie came running out to greet her, meowing and looking for help. It was quickly discovered that her tail had been partially de-gloved and that because it was an older injury, had maggots in it. Cammie was seen by our veterinarian, given medication, and immediately booked for life saving surgery to amputate her tail. He's a very sweet boy who needed some help. Sadly, Gunner suffered from horribly infected and painful ears. After doing a culture, it was found that he had 4 different types of infections along with polyps. This was not something that was going to clear up on its own and the only solution to helping Gunner was surgery on his ears to remove all of the infected tissue. Thelma is an approximately 4.5 year old, spayed mixed breed. She is a large, active dog with a big personality and is looking for someone who is able to continue working with her as she navigates the world. She is extremely food-motivated and loves to learn! She enjoys going for walks and playing with toys. She isn’t a fan of children and will not be placed in a home with them. She also doesn’t like cats. She is selective of other dogs (prefers males) but has done well with friends that match her rough-housing play style. Several meetings with a new canine friend may be necessary. This big girl has a lot of love to give, she just needs to find the right fit! Hope was understandably confused and depressed when she first arrived but over the last couple of weeks, her sweet personality has started to blossom. She is a bigger girl, weighing over 100 pounds. She has lived with other dogs in her previous home and she has done very well playing with the dogs at the shelter as well. From what we understand, she has no experience with children so teenage and above would be best for Hope. We are also unsure how she is with cats. Hope can be nervous meeting some new people but she is worth the effort to get to know. Chief is an approximately 3 year old female black cat that is looking for her forever home. She came to us several months ago with older kittens but discovered she was pregnant again! Back into foster care she went to raise her very last litter. They have all been adopted and this lovely lady is enjoying the peace and quiet! She is going to be spayed in the next week or so, and would love to have a family waiting for her once she is ready to go. Chief is a sweet, outgoing lady who loves cat nip. She seems to tolerate the other cats in the cat room and would likely coexist with a relaxed feline companion.
