Cammie was found by a young woman who was out for a walk. As she passed some woods, Cammie came running out to greet her, meowing and looking for help. Cammie was seen by our veterinarian, given medication, and immediately booked for life saving surgery to amputate her tail. He's a very sweet boy who needed some help. Sadly, Gunner suffered from horribly infected and painful ears. After doing a culture, it was found that he had 4 different types of infections along with polyps. This was not something that was going to clear up on its own and the only solution to helping Gunner was surgery on his ears to remove all of the infected tissue. He originally came to us through the New Brunswick SPCA with another dog. It took him a little while to adjust to the shelter environment and new people but opened up to show us his sweet, funny personality! He was unfortunately returned after being adopted when he started showing resource guarding behaviour of his person. Due to this behaviour, we will not place him in a home with children. This tall, sweet boy has experienced a lot of change over the past few months, which can be difficult and confusing for any dog. Tonka is hoping to find someone that is committed to providing him with structure and stability to set him up for success while settling into his new home. He does not like cats but has done well with a few of the dogs at the shelter. He can be slow to warm up to new people and will likely require multiple visits. Meet Hope! This senior, low rider chubby lab is the happiest, sweetest girl you will ever meet! She's about 10 years old but don't let her age fool you...she's still full of energy and spunkiness. Hope was brought to us by the NBSPCA Animal Protection Officer after she was found living in unsanitary conditions with another dog and several cats. Upon her arrival to the shelter, she greeted everyone as if they had always been her best friend and she continues to do that with everyone she meets. She is good with other dogs and cats as well. Hope has some medical issues with both of her back knees but that doesnt stop her from enjoying daily walks and playing with the other dogs at the shelter. She also seems to have some allergies so we've recently put her on a no chicken/beef diet. Hope needs to lose some weight as well to feel her absolute best. We have started her on a joint supplement because of her age and knees. With the help from our friends at the Oromocto Vet Hospital, he had his tooth removed, ears treated, neutered and is feeling much better!! He has been enjoying a wet food diet as he heals from the tooth removal, which will need to continue for another week or so. Chonk has been a vocal, outgoing sweetheart from the start. He has done well with other cats in our cat room and would likely adjust to new companions with slow introductions. We aren’t sure how he feels about dogs.
