Dogs available for adoption
Though this section is updated regularly, this is not an exhaustive or complete list. If you are interested in meeting an animal listed below, please call the shelter at (506) 446-4107 to:
A) Make sure the animal is still available (and)
B) Make an appointment to meet them.
A valuable tool to use is the “I am Looking to Adopt a Dog” questionnaire.
Completion of this questionnaire (and submitting it to the shelter) is mandatory for all dog adoptions.
Thank you for taking this important first step.
Thelma
The lovable, goofy Thelma is unfortunately back with us at the shelter, looking for her forever home.
Thelma is an approximately 4.5 year old, spayed mixed breed. She is a large, active dog with a big personality and is looking for someone who is able to continue working with her as she navigates the world. She is extremely food-motivated and loves to learn! She enjoys going for walks and playing with toys. She isn’t a fan of children and will not be placed in a home with them. She also doesn’t like cats. She is selective of other dogs (prefers males) but has done well with friends that match her rough-housing play style. Several meetings with a new canine friend may be necessary. This big girl has a lot of love to give, she just needs to find the right fit! If you would like to meet her, please call t
Rusty & Sparky
Rusty and Sparky, the cutest duo, were brought to us by the NBSPCA Animal Protection Officers when their family were no longer able to care for them.
Rusty is a 3 and a half year old shih tzu mix and Sparky is an almost 13 year old small mixed breed. They are both neutered. They are friendly, outgoing, energetic, cuddly and they seem to be good with other dogs!
These 2 littles have been together for the last 3 and a half years and they are looking for a home together. Separating them is not an option.
If you'd like to meet these 2 cuties, please call the shelter at 446-4107 to make an appointment. You will not be disappointed!
Hope
Hope is a 6 year old spayed female mastiff who came to us from the NBSPCA after her beloved owner passed away.
Hope was understandably confused and depressed when she first arrived but over the last couple of weeks, her sweet personality has started to blossom.
She is a bigger girl, weighing over 100 pounds. She has lived with other dogs in her previous home and she has done very well playing with the dogs at the shelter as well. From what we understand, she has no experience with children so teenage and above would be best for Hope. We are also unsure how she is with cats.
Hope can be nervous meeting some new people but she is worth the effort to get to know. If you'd like to meet this big, beautiful girl, please call the shelter at 446-4107 to make an appointment.
