Animals Available for adoption

Portia

Portia is an approximately 4 year old spayed female American Bulldog that was brought to us by the New Brunswick SPCA. She was left at a boarding facility where she stayed for the next 8 months, living in a kennel. She was under socialized with both dogs and people, very unsure of her new surroundings. She came to us with infected, itchy ears and has received veterinary care to treat them. She also went into heat while at the shelter, which prolonged her stay with us. After spending several weeks with us, she has truly come out of her shell. She loves to play with the other dogs in the backyard, thoroughly enjoys going for walks with our volunteers, and happily greets everyone that comes to visit. Now that her ears are feeling better and she is spayed, Portia is optimistically searching for her forever home. She needs a home without cats but would likely do well with another dog. If you would like to meet this sweet, kind lady, please call the shelter at (506) 446-4107 to make an appointment.

Lucy

Lucy is a 4 year old spayed female golden retriever who was brought to us by the NBSPCA Animal Protection Officer. Lucy is a typical fun loving, energetic retriever and she loves to play! She enjoys the other dogs at the shelter and she also lived with 4 other dogs in her previous home. Lucy has a congenital heart murmur which her new family needs to be aware of. She is not currently taking any medication but that could change in the future. She lives her life like any normal dog at this point in her life, there's really no stopping her!
Lucy has had a diet change recently to a no chicken/no beef food and she is doing well and will need to continue that diet due to possible allergies.
If you're looking for an adventure buddy, Lucy is waiting. Please call the shelter at 446-4107 to make an appointment to meet her.

I am looking to Adopt a Dog

Tina

Tina is an approximately 8 year old spayed female American Bulldog who was brought to us a few months ago by the NBSPCA Animal Protection Officer after she was seized. Tina had issues with her eyes, ears and skin when she came to us but after months of medication, veterinary care and a diet of no chicken or beef, she is doing so much better! Tina has been very good with all of the dogs she has met and played with but she does not like cats. She is looking for a home that will continue with her special diet and her ongoing ear care. She likes to go for walks but is also happy hanging out with her people doing nothing. If you'd like to meet Tina, please call the shelter at 446-4107 to make an appointment.

Daniel

Daniel is an approximately 4 year old neutered male pittie/shepherd mix that was brought to us by the NBSPCA. He is a very friendly, high energy boy that is hoping for an active family that will make sure he gets the proper physical and mental enrichment he deserves. He enjoys playing with the other dogs in the backyard and would likely do well with a canine friend. We are not sure how he feels about cats. He has been stressed in the kennel indoors and has developed “happy tail”, which should resolve once he is in a home. If you are looking for an adventure buddy, Daniel is your man! Please call the shelter at (506) 446-4107 to make an appointment.
